 The ILO have recently published their report focusing on Global Employment Trends.    This makes for interesting reading and highlights areas across the globe with differing employment challenges.   Another very interesting report by Eurofound states “In the midst of Europe’s greatest recession, 40% of all EU companies have difficulties finding workers with the right skills.”   Source Eurofound Nov 2013.

As a search firm directly affected by these trends,  we have noticed a marked increase in requests for searches to identify and secure candidates for companies experiencing difficulty in resourcing “hard to fill” roles.    This is quite often due to a shortage of particular skills as emerging organisations compete for the best staff.  In other instances, the company’s location, industry or other mitigating circumstances may make it difficult to attract staff at the right level and with the right skills.

As DSA, we have extensive experience in recruiting “hard to fill” roles, very often where a previous company has failed. Searches can be conducted at all levels where there is not a ready pool of candidates to choose from.
